Anne has been part of Friends of Highland Arts since its inception. Anne and her husband John have lived in St. Paul for close to 20 years. They have two teenage daughters who are both graduates of Highland Catholic School. Their eldest is in 12th grade at Highland Park Senior High School and is a music and voice student. St. Paul has never disappointed them, largely because its people are original and engaged in their communities.
Working as a high school guidance counselor, Anne has observed that despite our rich artistic and cultural backdrop of St. Paul, our schools consistently lack funding for arts education. Anne has seen up close the difference a vibrant arts curriculum (visual, performance, music) makes on the holistic education of a student and builds an environment where all students belong. In addition to to wanting to support and celebrate the arts in our schools, Anne looks forward to a day when FHA helps create a venue in our broader Highland Park community for an arts and recreation center to showcase the talents of our neighbors and bring people together
When not working or volunteering for Friends of Highland Arts, she spends her free time attending her two daughters’ soccer games and other special events, spending time with friends, practicing gentle yoga and going for long bike rides with her husband. Additionally, Anne loves dogs and is continually entertained by her family’s dog Buster.
